In accordance with the involvement of ACCOBAMS in the EU Marine Strategy Framework Directive (MSFD) and in the Ecosystem Approach (EcAp) process of the Barcelona Convention, this web application was specifically conceived to support ACCOBAMS in providing information to feed the regional assessment and in reporting by its Contracting Parties to MSFD Indicator 11.1.1 and to EcAp Common Indicator 26 (Ecological Objective 11).
The primary objective of this website is to demonstrate the implementation and the use of an international register of impulsive noise sources, as recommended in the framework of the MSFD and the EcAp.
According to the demonstrative purpose, the database was initially fed with a sample of data collected during the project “Overview of the Noise Hotspots in the ACCOBAMS area – Part I, Mediterranean Sea” [ACCOBAMS-MOP6/2016/Doc28Rev1]. However, such data were rather incomplete regarding the objectives of the Noise Register.
Therefore, missing information was added on an arbitrary basis, with the solely intent to provide the best demonstration. Thus, data and results shown in this portal do not reflect the reality.
Please note that this is a beta version of the Noise Register website which is still undergoing final testing before its official release. The website, its software and all content found on it are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Should you encounter any bugs, glitches, lack of functionality or other problems on the website, please let us know immediately (firstname.lastname@example.org) so we can rectify these accordingly.
This demonstrator was developed thanks to a voluntary contribution of the Principality of Monaco.
